AUSTRALIAN HEAVY VEHICLE WHEEL ALIGNMENT ASSOCIATION

why the australian heavy vehicle alignment association was formed

History
The Commercial Vehicle Steering, Suspension & Alignment Association (CVSSAA) was established in 2007 from what was formerly known as the Australian Heavy Vehicle Wheel Aligners Association, set up in 1994.  The initial aim of the Association was to represent the industry professionally, to work collectively, and to standardise safe alignment practices and procedures throughout Australia
A new start
The name of the association was changed in 2007 to theCommercial Vehicle Steering, Suspension & Alignment Association(CVSSAA) to accommodate new members from the steering and suspension fraternity.

Significant achievements
From these early beginnings the association has been instrumental in bringing the industry together, collectively achieving the following:
  • Establishing a Code of practice for the heavy vehicle alignment industry that is followed by all members for the
safe and effective alignment of commercial vehicles
  • Having this code recognised as an Australian Standard
  • Actively participating with theNew Zealand Heavy Vehicle Wheel Aligners Association
and Canterbury University in writing a paper on the process of cold axle correction.
Since its inception the Association has been meeting twice a year to discuss technical issues, interact with suppliers and represent the interests of the members.
